Six Things Worth Knowing

No-Obligation Assessment

Looking at a watch costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

Written Estimate First

You see the cost and scope in writing before any work begins.

Photo Documentation

Restoration work is photographed throughout so you stay informed.

Patina Conserved

Original surfaces are preserved, not polished away, unless you ask.

Timing Verified

Mechanical movements are tested on a timing machine before return.

Plain Language Always

No technical mystification — what your watch needs, explained clearly.

Professional Expertise

Pim has been repairing watches since 2009. That's sixteen years of working on calibres ranging from basic quartz movements to complex mechanical automatics, along with dozens of vintage pieces that required particular delicacy in handling. This experience means fewer surprises — the team recognises patterns of wear, knows which parts are likely to need replacement before disassembly, and understands the quirks of different movement families.

  • Quartz and mechanical movement repair
  • Vintage overhaul and conservation
  • Timing regulation across multiple positions
  • Seal replacement and water resistance testing

Tools and Equipment

Work is carried out with appropriate horological tooling — movement holders, case-opening tools, timing machines, and water resistance testing equipment suited to the task at hand. Lubricants are sourced from established horological suppliers and are stored correctly. This matters more than it might appear: an oil applied at the wrong weight or in the wrong volume will shorten a movement's life just as surely as no oil at all.

  • Proper horological tooling throughout
  • Timing machine verification post-service
  • Correctly stored lubricants and solvents
  • Water resistance testing where applicable

Client Service

The experience of leaving a valued possession with someone you've just met requires a degree of trust. Pim takes that seriously. Watches are logged on arrival and stored securely. Owners are kept informed of progress without having to chase. Any question about what was done — or why — will be answered directly. For restoration work, photographs are taken at significant stages so there is a clear record of the process.

  • Watch logged securely on arrival
  • Progress updates without being asked
  • Photographs accompanying restoration jobs
  • Questions answered clearly and directly

Transparent Pricing

Each service has a stated price — ฿4,300 for battery and seal, ฿9,700 for a complete mechanical service, ฿14,200 for vintage restoration. These are the prices. There are no hidden additions for standard work. If something unexpected is found during a service — a worn part that genuinely needs replacing — that will be explained and agreed before any additional cost is incurred.

  • Stated prices for all three services
  • No surprise additions for standard work
  • Any extra cost agreed in advance
  • Free initial assessment — no charge to look

Results You Can Measure

A serviced mechanical watch should run within reasonable tolerances and feel responsive. A vintage piece after restoration should operate reliably while looking as it should — aged, not ageless. Pim's test before any watch leaves the workshop is: would we be satisfied receiving this back ourselves? If the answer is yes, it goes back to the owner. If it isn't, it doesn't.

  • Timing verified against machine results
  • Water resistance confirmed post-seal work
  • No watch leaves until it meets our own standard
  • Vintage character preserved throughout

Side by Side

Pim vs. A Typical Workshop

A Typical Repair Shop

  • Assessment charged whether work proceeds or not
  • Vintage cases routinely polished without discussion
  • No photos — you receive the watch back with no record of work done
  • Final price may differ from initial quote
  • Timing machine results not shared
  • Progress updates require chasing

Pim's Approach

  • Assessment is always free — no commitment to proceed
  • Cosmetic work only with your explicit agreement
  • Photos taken at key stages of restoration
  • Stated prices — no additions without agreement
  • Timing machine results available on request
  • Proactive updates throughout the service period

What Makes Us Different

Distinctive Features of Working with Pim

The No-Obligation Review Panel

Before any service begins, we sit with the watch and explain what it needs, what that will cost, and how long it will take. You can ask questions, consider the options, and decide in your own time. This is not a standard offering among watch repair workshops — most charge for this conversation or skip it entirely.

Vintage-First Conservation Approach

Most workshops treat cosmetic work as standard. Pim treats it as optional. For vintage pieces, the default is to leave surfaces as they are, overhaul the movement, and return a watch that runs well and looks its age. This approach is rarely offered without asking — here it is the starting point.

Photographic Process Records

For restoration work, photographs are taken at meaningful stages — disassembled movement, cleaned parts, regulated timing results, and final condition. These form a record that belongs to you and gives you something most workshops don't: visibility into what actually happened to your watch.

Stated Prices Without Variation

Battery & seal at ฿4,300. Complete service at ฿9,700. Vintage restoration at ฿14,200. These aren't estimates that grow — they are the prices. The only time a figure changes is if something genuinely unexpected is found, and that conversation happens before the work, not after.
